Green Building

To effectively steward our forests, especially in the face of the recent mountain pine beetle epidemic, beetle-kill wood must be put to use.  Our band saw mill can turn beetle-killed trees into beautiful rough-cut lumber.  We utilize GRK Fasteners (TM) to create the strongest buildings possible and prefer Australian Timber Oil stain for bringing out the best in our lodgepole lumber.

Log Buildings and Frame construction

The wood products in this log barn were milled on-site from wood in the forests nearby. Many mountain-pine-beetle-infected trees were selectively harvested, milled, and installed in the barn within a few day’s time, realizing an effective treatment and utilization of beetle-killed wood.
